When it comes to hair growth we see a lot of clients looking for a quick fix. While there are some products that MAY help we like to remind clients that how we treat our bodies plays a huge part in our hair growth and health! STRESS - According to a New York Times article, people often develop hair thinning between six weeks and three months after a stressful event such as a major surgery, a chronic or short-term illness (especially if it involved a fever), a pregnancy or a death in the family — basically, “anything that causes a stress or shock to your system. The good news is its only temporary. You’ll go through that shedding phase, usually for several weeks, maybe a few months, and then it will slow down. During that time here are some things that can help reverse the thinning process.
Get a good nights rest - Lack of sleep leads to higher cortisol (stress hormone) levels, which can impact hair growth.
Eat quality protein -Protein is an essential building block of healthy hair. Whether it is plant based or meat, make sure you are getting the right amount for your body.
Active movement -Exercise is known to help with stress, sleep, and metabolism, all of which are key to healthy hair growth.
